Honoring Our Baby’s Memory

My Son Ronin Was Born April 17th 2024.

On June 17th 2024 He Was Admitted Into Children’s For Concern Of His Oxygen, He Was Later Diagnosed With Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis ( HLH) A Rare Life Threatening Immune Disorder. We Then Started Chemotherapy And Steroids Treatments To Control His Fluid Retention And Enlargement Of His Spleen And Liver. We Were Later Moved Down From ICU to A Blood Disorder/Cancer Floor At Children’s As He Was Stable And Off Oxygen. July 24th 2024 We Were Discharged And Sent Home With Daily Meds And A PIC In His Left Arm Awaiting Donor Status And Response. They Found 3 Matches And No One Responded So He Got A Cord Transplant ( When Women Donate Their Placenta At Birth ) We Were Set For Bone Marrow Transplant September 10th And Got Admitted September 4th For Our Last Doses Of Chemotherapy To Wipe Out All His White Blood Cells. On September 4th Ronin Went Into Surgery To Have A Catheter Placed In His Chest For Transplant. We Had Trouble With This Catheter Twice So He Had To Go Back Into Surgery To Get It Fixed, We Noticed A Few Changes In The Incision Area As It Looked Infected We Were Reassured It Was Not. A Little After Transplant On September 18th Ronin Had A Code Blue Called As His Oxygen Was Very Low. We Were Moved Up Into ICU And Placed On A Ventilator And Placed On Dialysis Since He Had Fluid Retention. On September 29th We Noticed His Heart Rate Increased And Blood Pressure Decreased And Couldn’t Figure Out Why Or What Happened Til We Found Necrotizing Fasciitis In The Area Of His Neck Incision. He Had 11 Debridement Surgery’s To Try And Clear Out The Infection. His Doctor's Informed Us It Was A Battle Between The Infection And His Immune System And To Prepare Our Selfs As It Was In His Neck And They Were Close To important Arteries And His Jaw And His Lungs Were Also Visible. Ronin Was Given A Rare White Blood Cell Transfusion As His Bone Marrow Wasn’t Responding And The Infection Was Overpowering. This Was Our Last Hope.. On October 29th He Was Finally Able To Remove The Vent And We Held Him For The First Time In A Month.

on October 31st We Had Another Scare Of Him Needing Oxygen Help And Low Blood Pressures. He Was Then Again Placed On A Ventilator.

After Many Surgeries On November 4th We Got The News That His Bone Marrow Was Improving And There Was No More Infection He Didnt Need Anymore Surgery For Debridement.

We Were Now Involving Plastic Surgery To Begin Reconstruction Of His Neck. He Was Having Trouble With His Blood Pressure And Was Needing Help We Were Able To Control The Low Blood Pressures He Was Still On The Ventilator. He Started Having Trouble With Fluid Retention While Still On Dialysis They Couldn’t Pull Off Any Extra Fluid Due To His Blood Pressure Constantly Going Low.

On November 27th @ 4pm We Got A Call That His Blood Pressure Was Low And He Seemed Dehydrated They Were Able To Control His Blood Pressure With His Max Dose Of Norepi And Epi. Around 8pm We Were Able To Get Off The Blood Pressure Medication As He Was Improving, @ 10pm We Were Then Placed On Blood Pressure Medication Once Again And On High Settings Of Oxygen His Oxygen Levels Were In Still In The 70’s. As We Witnessed Everything They Informed Us He Was Passed His Max Dose On Nor Epi And Epi His Oxygen Was Still Decreasing So Was His Blood Pressure.. At 11:46 They Started Compressions They Had To Bag Him.. In A Room Full Of Nurses And Doctor’s Blood Started Coming Through The Breathing Bag.. They Did Compressions For 20 Minutes And Still No Pulse.. Our Son Lost His Fight At 12:01 Am November 29th.

We Created This GoFund Me To Help With Funeral Arrangements,Medical Expenses And Attorney Fees. We Strongly Feel As If Ronin Experienced Malpractice At Children’s.
