Honoring Novalee Sol Martinez: Your Support Needed

My sweet granddaughter, Novalee Sol Martinez, was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome when my daughter, Madison, was 16 weeks pregnant.

Novalee was born on March 6, 2025, at 5:37 a.m., weighing 6 lbs 4.9 ounces, and beautiful as can be with her eyes wide open, ready to see her mommy and daddy.

Novalee’s journey thus far has been incredibly challenging. Following her surgery on March 10th, she unfortunately was unable to separate from bypass and required ECMO support, which she has not been able to wean from. Additionally, her condition has evolved to include a concerning presentation of multi-organ dysfunction with severely depressed cardiac function, dependence on continuous venovenous hemofiltration (CVVH), and necrotic extremities. While it is reassuring that there is no evidence of neurological injury, the combination of these factors has severely impacted her overall health.

Novalee will be taken off ECMO tomorrow, March 26, 2025. Madison and Lisandro are wanting a proper burial for their sweet baby. We’re asking for donations to make this happen for them and Novalee.
