Hello, my name is Annette, and I am writing with a broken heart after the sudden and tragic loss of my beloved mother, Nohemi Villarreal.

On Monday, December 15, my mother was traveling home with my brother, Migel, and my four-year-old nephew, Adriel, when they were involved in a devastating car accident. A semi-truck driver fell asleep on the freeway, causing a collision that forever changed our lives.

My brother Migel suffered severe injuries, he had to be airlifted to St. Joseph Hospital in Phoenix, while his son received medical care in Yuma, Az. Now he faces multiple surgeries and long-term medical care. Tragically, my mother passed away at the scene. Losing her so suddenly has left our family in unimaginable pain.

My mother was the strongest person I knew. She was a hard-working woman who held two jobs to support her family, always putting her children before herself. She leaves behind three children, who meant everything to her and were the center of her world. Despite all the challenges she faced, she remained a joyful, loving, and incredibly brave person.

What makes this loss even more heartbreaking is that my mother was also battling cancer. She fought with courage and determination and was making progress in her treatment before this tragedy struck. She had hope, strength, and so many dreams still ahead of her.

As we try to process this profound loss, we are now facing overwhelming medical bills and the costs associated with her funeral services. The financial burden during this time has been incredibly difficult, and we are doing our best to stay strong for one another while honoring her memory.

El lunes 15 de diciembre, mi madre viajaba de regreso a casa junto a mi hermano, Migel, y mi sobrino de cuatro años, Adriel, cuando estuvieron involucrados en un devastador accidente automovilístico. Un conductor de tráiler se quedó dormido en la autopista, provocando una colisión que cambió nuestras vidas para siempre.

Mi hermano Migel sufrió lesiones graves y tuvo que ser transportado en helicoptero al hospital St. Joseph localizado en Phoenix, mientras su hijo recivia cuidados medicos en Yuma. Ahora, mi hermano enfrenta múltiples cirugías y atención médica a largo plazo. Trágicamente, mi madre falleció en el lugar del accidente. Perderla de manera tan repentina ha dejado a nuestra familia sumida en un dolor imposible de describir.

Mi madre fue la persona más fuerte que conocí. Era una mujer trabajadora incansable, que tenía dos empleos para apoyar a su familia, siempre poniendo a sus hijos antes que a ella misma. Deja atrás a tres hijos, quienes eran su mayor orgullo y lo más importante en su vida. A pesar de todas las dificultades, siempre fue una persona alegre, amorosa y valiente.

Lo que hace esta pérdida aún más dolorosa es que mi madre también estaba luchando contra el cáncer. Enfrentó esta batalla con coraje y determinación, y estaba mostrando avances positivos en su tratamiento antes de que ocurriera esta tragedia. Tenía esperanza, fortaleza y muchos sueños aún por cumplir.

Mientras intentamos asimilar esta pérdida tan profunda, también estamos enfrentando gastos médicos inesperados y los costos asociados con los servicios funerarios. Esta carga financiera ha sido abrumadora en un momento ya muy difícil para nuestra familia, pero seguimos unidos para honrar su memoria.
