In Loving Memory of Nina

With deep sadness and boundless love, we share the passing of Nina, our radiant 17-year-old daughter, granddaughter, sister, and friend. While on a trip with her dad to reconnect with family in Italy, Nina suffered a tragic swimming accident. She passed away, surrounded by her family, love, prayer, and unshakable faith.

Your kindness, prayers, and generosity—no matter the amount—mean the world to us. Thank you for holding Nina and our family so tenderly in your hearts. Your support will bring much-needed comfort and relief to Nina’s father, Angelo Carbini, and to Trattoria Nina as they face these sad and difficult times.

Nina lived with courage, creativity, and joy. She shared a deep love for art, color, music, dancing, and her dogs with her family and friends. Her days were filled with laughter—painting with her mom, cooking, enjoying music, and filling her world with light. She made everyday life feel magical. She cherished school, loved learning, and was grateful for the teachers who guided her with care and support. Each season brought her joy: winter’s coziness, spring’s hope, summer’s sparkle, and the excitement of a new school year. She was a joyful soul who simply wanted to live a full and beautiful life—and she did.

In the words of her mom: “Nina no es frágil. Nina puede llegar fuerte y ser feliz. Es un tremendo milagro.” / “Nina is not fragile. She could come back strong and happy. She was a tremendous miracle.” Nina truly was a miracle. Her brave heart and radiant spirit will live on in everyone who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving mom, her devoted dads, her cherished brothers, her grandparents, her great-grandmother, her aunties, cousins, extended family, and many dear friends in Boston, Italy, Spain, and beyond.

In addition to this heartbreaking loss, our family is also facing unexpected expenses related to Nina’s passing and the memorial, including traveling and hospital bills. Many have asked how they can help, and your care deeply moves us.

Con profunda tristeza y amor inmenso, compartimos la partida de Nina, nuestra radiante hija, nieta, hermana y amiga de 17 años. Durante un viaje con su papá para reencontrarse con la familia en Italia, Nina sufrió un trágico accidente en el agua y falleció rodeada de su familia, amor, oraciones y una fe inquebrantable.

Nina vivió con valentía, creatividad y alegría. Compartía con su mamá, sus dos papás y sus hermanos un profundo amor por el arte, el color, la música, el baile y sus perritos. Sus días estaban llenos de risas y magia—pintando con su mamá, bailando por la casa, haciendo música y llenando su mundo de luz. Hacía de la vida cotidiana algo especial. Amaba su escuela y el placer de aprender, y agradecía profundamente a sus maestros. Con profonda tristezza e amore infinito, condividiamo la scomparsa di Nina, la nostra luminosa figlia, nipote, sorella e amica di 17 anni. Durante un viaggio con suo papà per ritrovare la famiglia in Italia, Nina ha avuto un tragico incidente in acqua ed è venuta a mancare, circondata dalla sua famiglia, dall’amore, dalle preghiere e da una fede incrollabile.

Nina ha vissuto con coraggio, creatività e gioia. Condivideva con la mamma, i suoi due papà e i fratelli un amore profondo per l’arte, i colori, la musica, la danza e i suoi cagnolini. Le sue giornate erano piene di risate e magia—dipingeva con la mamma, ballava per casa, faceva musica e riempiva il suo mondo di luce. Rendeva ogni giorno speciale.

Amava la scuola, adorava imparare e portava nel cuore la gratitudine verso i suoi insegnanti. Ogni stagione le regalava gioia: il calore dell’inverno, la speranza della primavera, il sole d’estate e l’entusiasmo per l’anno scolastico. Era un’anima gioiosa che voleva vivere una vita piena e bellissima—e ci è riuscita.
