Honoring Nic: Helping His Dog Heal and Start Again

I’m adopting a 2-year-old German Shepherd who belonged to my best friend, Nic.

Nic wasn’t just a friend; he was like my brother. He passed away recently, and this sweet girl has been grieving ever since. She’s been anxious and had other health issues.

I promised Nic I’d always be there for him. He was part of my hopes and dreams, and I intend to honor that promise for the rest of my life.

I’m a full-time medical student, and while I’m committed to giving her the love and stability she needs, I simply don’t have the financial capacity right now to provide for her on my own. My wife is also in school, and we're living on a single student income. Until we’re in a more stable place, I’ll be paying for her to live safely with my mom and doing everything I can to make sure she’s supported through this transition.

Her recovery will require:

Prescription food for her stomach and emotional health

Calming supplements and digestive support

Veterinary care

Supplies to help her feel safe, grounded, and loved
