Honoring Nayasia. Supporting Her Legacy. Standing with Her Family.

On Saturday, our community suffered an unimaginable loss. Nayasia, just 19 years old, was taken from us far too soon in a tragic act of violence. She was an innocent bystander. Nayasia was a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a young woman with her whole life ahead of her. Her family is now navigating a kind of pain no parent should ever endure. Many in the community have asked how they can support and surround the family with love during this time. In response, this fund has been created to honor Nayasia’s memory, and fund a future scholarship in her name—a beacon of light that will help keep her spirit alive. Nayasia’s mother will also work to push for legislation to hold those who harm innocent bystanders fully accountable under the law.
