On March 24, 2026, we lost Nathan Hughes, an incredible man who left this world far too soon at just 49 years old. His sudden and tragic passing has left us all utterly heartbroken.
Nate was deeply loved by so many. If you knew him, you know just how rare he was. He had a heart of gold and was the kind of friend you could always count on to show up when you needed him, with his perfectly terrible yet somehow hilarious sense of humor that always made people laugh.
Some of Nate’s happiest moments were spent outdoors, out on the water with a fishing pole in hand, or alongside Misty, traveling, camping, and caring for the garden they built together at home. He also loved quiet nights on the couch with his favorite puppers, Nala, probably watching some ridiculously weird sci-fi show. He had a deep love for gathering and creating lasting memories with his closest friends. He and Misty were known for their themed get-togethers, and he always seemed to have the best costume for every occasion. Halloween was his favorite holiday, and it’s where those beloved traditions first began.
We want to honor Nate by remembering the warmth, laughter, loyalty, and love he brought into the lives around him. Out of respect for our family, and because the circumstances of Nathan’s passing were deeply traumatic, we are choosing to keep some details private.

Misty, his life partner of nearly 18 years, is now carrying an unimaginable amount of grief and stress as she tries to navigate life without him by her side. Along with this devastating loss comes very real financial pressure, including memorial expenses, household bills, mortgage support, and the many unexpected costs that follow such a sudden tragedy.
We are creating this fundraiser to help give Misty some breathing room during an unbearably painful time. Donations will go toward memorial and funeral expenses, immediate household needs and mortgage support to bridge the gap during this transition.
