❤️ Nate’s Story
Just over four years ago, Larry Rhoades and Heidi Allison’s world changed forever.

Their only son, Nate, just 21, was critically injured in a traffic collision and did not survive. Amid unimaginable loss, they made the decision to donate his organs—a reflection of who Nate was. Because of him, multiple lives were saved.

Nate had a huge heart. He cared deeply about others and was passionate about recovery—not just for himself, but for anyone struggling. He showed up for people again and again in their hardest moments.

“Nate was always the one helping others—this is how we continue that,” shared his father.

One year later, through grief and purpose, Nate’s Place, A Wellness and Recovery Center was born, incorporating the Recovery Recipe that worked so well for Nate.

Since opening in 2023, over 419 youth and young adults have found connection, support, and hope through:
  • 1:1 Peer coaching
  • 14 weekly groups
  • 20+ Healthy activities
  • A safe place to belong

And it’s working! Of those served at Nate's Place:
  • 99% report improved mental health
  • 92% report reduced substance use

❤️ A Once-in-a-Lifetime Opportunity

Nate’s Place has been awarded a $5.71 million state grant to build a new 1.4-acre healing campus, including:
  • A 20-bed peer respite for young adults in early recovery
  • A housing navigator to help youth transition into stability
  • Expanded peer coaching, groups, and life skills programming

This grant covers 90% of the cost.

But we must raise the final 10%—$571,000—by the end of the year to unlock it.

❤️ Why This Matters Right Now

Too many young people in crisis are placed in motels or unstable environments — places that make recovery harder, not easier.

In Ventura County right now:
  • No youth peer respite exists
  • Critical gaps leave young people without real support
  • Families have nowhere safe to turn

This recovery campus would fill that gap by providing a safe, supported path from crisis to stability through peer care.

We have a chance to change that—completely. But we can only build it with your help.

❤️Why Your Donation Matters

Your gift does more than support Nate's Place - it helps unlock a much larger investment in our community.

Because of this grant, every dollar you give helps secure nearly 10 times that amount in funding for youth recovery services.

Without community support, the grant cannot be activated.

This isn't just a donation - it's what makes the entire project possible.

This is one of those rare moments where a community can come together and create something lasting - for generations of young people to come!

❤️ What Makes Nate’s Place Different

Nate’s Place is built on something powerful: lived experience.

Our peer coaches have walked through:
  • Addiction
  • Mental health challenges
  • Trauma
  • Recovery

They don’t just support youth—they understand them.

Everything we offer is:
  • Free, including transportation
  • Accessible to all youth
  • Rooted in connection, belonging, and hope

Because recovery doesn’t happen in isolation — it happens in community.

Together, we are continuing Nate's work - one young person at a time.

❤️ Be a Part of Nate’s Legacy

This is more than a fundraiser.

It’s a chance to turn loss into hope. To help young people find their way back. To build something that will save lives for years to come.

Every donation says:
  • Recovery matters
  • Young people deserve a chance
  • We show up for each other

Help us unlock this $5.71 million opportunity.

❤️ Can’t Donate Right Now?

You can still make a huge impact.
  • Text this to a friend
  • Email someone who cares

If everyone shares with just 3 people, we can reach this goal faster than we think.

Every share = another chance at recovery.
