Honoring My Mother Geneva
Donation protected
This week I lost my mother to pancreatic cancer. She was diagnosed in July of this year. She turned 55 in August. This has all been very much unexpected for me and my brother David. Taking care of the expenses involved during her illness, and the arrangements after her passing, has been and continues to be challenging. My mother was a wonderfully encouraging and loving woman despite not having much. She was on disability and lived in low-income housing. Her existence was not extravagant and she is leaving very little behind.
During this week of Thanksgiving I am incredibly grateful to those people in my life who have been a support to me the past few months when the emotional weight of my mother’s cancer has been so heavy. I know that many people are wanting to send comfort our way, and in lieu of flowers or the usual giving that’s involved with condolences, we ask that you support this fundraiser so that we can bring our mother’s last wishes to realization. She requested for me and my brother to take her and her life partner back to where they met on North Hutchinson Island in Florida. My mother’s partner John passed away in 2006 from lung cancer and was like a father to me and my brother. John and my mother were soul mates. We will place them in the ocean together in one of their most beloved places. Please consider giving a small amount to support us in traveling to Florida to honor her final wishes and to cover the costs of services and arrangements involved with her passing.
