As some of you know, my brother passed away suddenly, and as my family and I were preparing to give him a decent service, my mother, Celia Carrillo Acevedo, also passed away. She had been on hospice for six months, fighting for her health. There were good days and bad, but I truly believe she passed away from a broken heart after losing her son. Although we didn't tell her about my brother's passing to spare her pain, I think she knew—call it mother's intuition, but I really believe she felt it in her heart.
My mom, Celia Carrillo Acevedo, was one of the toughest women I knew but with a heart of gold. She was a great woman who leaves behind numerous family and friends. Those who had the chance to meet her knew what a stubborn but loving person she was. Losing both my brother and my mother in such a short time has been incredibly hard for my family and me. We want to honor their memories with a dignified service, but the costs are overwhelming.
Beforehand, I would like to ask for any contribution you can make. On behalf of my family and me, thank you and God bless you for your kindness and support during this difficult time.
