My father passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, after years of living with dementia and Parkinson’s. Even as he slowly had difficulty remembering things and faced the challenges of Parkinson’s in the end, we never stopped remembering him and the love he gave us. He always looked out for me and supported me with whatever I did. He was a caring and generous person, always putting family first and making sure we felt loved and safe. His recent passing has been incredibly difficult for all of us, and I want to honor his memory in a way that truly reflects the impact he had on our lives.

The arrangements my mom and him set up for themselves for the time when they pass are very minimal and go straight to cremation with no viewing. While I respect their wishes, I feel it’s important to give my father a proper funeral service where our family and friends can gather, share memories, and say their final goodbyes before he is cremated and laid to rest in the church columbarium. This service will help us find closure and celebrate the life of a wonderful man, and show that we will continue remembering him even though he struggled with memory loss and Parkinson’s in his final years.
