I need you, Dad. You’ve always been my main person—the one I turn to for advice, help, and comfort when I feel lost or overwhelmed. Right now, you’re here, but we can’t speak, and I never knew silence could hurt so much. When I asked if you wanted to keep fighting, even if it meant going on a ventilator, you nodded yes. I’ve been by your side through this battle, and I know you’re scared. I am too. I’ve never felt so helpless, but I promise to watch over you. When I grabbed your hand, you tried to squeeze back. I know you can hear me, and I just wish I could hear you. I hope I can make your funeral choice come true. I love you, Dad.
My father was a proud member of the ham and amateur radio community in both Colorado and Utah. He was an electrical engineer for Harman Kardon, Fosgate, and Audionics, and he ran his own electronics repair business for over 20 years. He made friends everywhere he went and always knew how to make people feel welcome. His kindness and generosity touched so many lives, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and connection.
My father wanted to be cremated and have a celebration of life, surrounded by friends, family, and as many flowers as we can find. Any funds raised will go toward his cremation, the urn his grandson picked, flowers, and anything else that can help us celebrate his amazing life. If you’re able to help, it would mean the world to our family. Thank you for supporting us and helping honor my dad’s wishes.
