My brother recently passed away, and our family is heartbroken. He was a kind and generous person who cared deeply about those less fortunate than himself. As an attorney, he dedicated his career to fighting for people in difficult situations, always striving to make a difference for those who needed it most. He believed deeply in justice and equal treatment under the law, especially for minorities and those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. His passion for fairness and compassion touched everyone who knew him.
In addition to his work, my brother was a true animal lover. He had a special place in his heart for all animals, from dogs to cats, and he supported organizations that protected and cared for them. His love for animals was just another example of his caring nature and his desire to make the world a better place for all living beings.
We are raising funds to be equally distributed amongst three organizations that my brother cared deeply about—groups that support justice, help those in need, and protect animals:
American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)
Defend the rights of all people nationwide -- With immigrant rights, trans justice, reproductive freedom, and more at risk, we’re in courts and communities across the country to protect everyone’s rights — and we need you with us.
American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)
Save animals from dogfighting, puppy mills, hoarding and other cruelty situations. We provide animals medical care and behavioral rehabilitation, and help thousands of animals find loving homes every year. We respond to emergencies when disaster strikes, and fight for stronger laws to protect animals.
Union Rescue Mission
Life Changing Impact -- At Union Rescue Mission’s Downtown Ministry on Skid Row, our Hope Gardens Family Center, and Angeles House Family Center, we know a warm meal, safe shelter, and hot shower are just the beginning. That’s why we meet our guests where they are, offering support for their mind, body, and spirit. We walk along side them as they rediscover their strengths and work toward long-term stability.
These organizations do important work in our community, and your support will help them continue their missions. By coming together, we can celebrate my brother’s life and ensure that his spirit of giving and justice lives on.
