In Loving Memory of Muhip Goktepe

Dear friends, family, neighbors, and kind supporters,

It is with deep sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of Muhip Goktepe’s passing. Many knew Muhip through his ties to the Tarpon Springs community as he was a local fixture at the Sponge Docks for over 40 years. Muhip was unapologetically himself and never waived to meet anyone else’s expectations. Beneath his firm exterior was a man filled with kindness and love, especially for his children, grandchildren, and wife Maria.

In Muhip’s final days, he was surrounded by a tremendous amount of love and support from family, friends, and an amazing team of nurses and doctors in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit who worked diligently to provide him with the highest level of care and comfort. Although the best effort was not enough to keep him with us, we are grateful for the time we were given.

As his family grieves and navigates the days ahead, we are reaching out for support to help cover:

Maria is now left facing not only an unimaginable loss, but the financial hardship of funeral expenses, medical expenses, completing home repairs, and completing the boat Muhip had been working on. The boat represents more than just work or an expense, it is part of Muhip’s legacy and finishing it would help Maria preserve a piece of the life they have built together.
