Honoring Mr. Young — Cremation & Memorial Fund

Mr. Young touched countless lives during his many years with the Phoenix School District through quiet kindness, consistency, and genuine care. As a teacher’s aide at Dunbar, he showed up every day for students—making snacks, offering support, listening, and helping children feel seen and safe.

Mr. Young also meant more to my family than words can fully express. He made food for me during parent-teacher conferences, always took time to pray with me when I asked, and when my daughter was sick, he picked her up from school and even attended a parent-teacher conference with me. These were not obligations—this was love in action.

He carried that same devotion in his personal life, faithfully visiting his mother every single day while she was in a care facility until her passing.

At this time, Eastlake Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. While Mr. Young has no known living family able to claim him, he has family in all of us whose lives he touched and who loved him. $1,400 is needed to claim his body and cover cremation costs. Once this amount is reached, any additional funds will go toward a simple memorial so our community may gather to honor him.

I cannot do this alone, but I believe that together—as a school family and community—we can give Mr. Young the dignity and remembrance he deserves.
