On September 22, 2026, at approximately 7:15 PM, our family suffered an unimaginable loss. Our Only brother of 6 siblings Montique Tremayne Gaston, a native of Portsmouth Virginia, tragically lost his life during an encounter with Virginia State Police in Staunton, Virginia. Most heartbreaking of all, Montique’s two children were in the vehicle and witnessed their father being shot and taken his last breath , No child should ever have to experience the trauma of losing a parent in such a devastating way. Montique was a son, a brother, a father, a family member, and someone whose life meant so much to the people who loved him that was cut short , We are asking for support to help our family with funeral and burial expenses, travel, and the unexpected costs that come with this heartbreaking loss, while also helping care for his children as they begin to process the loss of their father.
