Honoring Monica Williams: Celebration of Life and Legal Fees

Monica Ruth (Selby) Williams was the heart and soul of every gathering, known for her warmth, laughter, and the way she made everyone feel at home. She was the light of the party, always ready with a delicious meal, a craft cocktail, and a welcoming smile. Monica loved hosting celebrations for every occasion—Easter, the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and countless get-togethers in between. Her home was a place where friends, family, and even newcomers felt like they belonged. Some of our most cherished memories are of camping trips, outings to the “relaxation station,” and our annual tradition of picking out a Christmas tree in Apple Hill. Monica’s generosity and spirit touched everyone she met, and she truly was everyone’s “best friend.”

Her passing was sudden and has left our family heartbroken. We are now facing the difficult task of planning her celebration of life and honoring her memory in a way she deserves. The costs for food, floral arrangements, and an urn are just the beginning. Without a will, we’ve had to hire a lawyer and will likely go through probate court to try to keep the family home where we grew up. Funds are already tight, and we want to ensure we can celebrate Monica’s life without the added stress of financial uncertainty.

We are taking things one day at a time, trying to focus on what needs to be done while grieving the loss of our mother. Monica was the best mom, a wonderful sister, and a true friend to so many. Any support will help us cover these urgent expenses and allow us to focus on honoring her memory and supporting each other through this difficult time.
