Mollie Marquee Samples touched so many lives throughout her life. She was born developmentally and mentally disabled, but her spirit was always vibrant, bright, and kind. For over 15 years, Mollie was in great health, surrounded by a loving family who did everything they could for her. When she was diagnosed with hip dysplasia, we took her to Barnes Jewish Children's Hospital for further care. After reconstructive hip surgery, Mollie faced unexpected complications. She developed a severe case of bacterial pneumonia and was intubated for over 17 days. Despite these challenges, Mollie showed incredible resilience. She came home on March 5th, and with her family by her side, she slowly began to recover from the effects of pneumonia. Even though her hip never healed as we hoped and she experienced ongoing pain, Mollie never let it dampen her spirit. She remained strong, tough, and determined, always bringing light to those around her. Her vitals stabilized, and she began to return to her old personality, even if she couldn't move like she used to. Sadly, after all she endured, the Lord called Mollie home last night in her sleep. Our family is heartbroken, but we are grateful for every moment we shared with her. We want to honor Mollie's memory with a meaningful funeral, burial, beautiful flower arrangements, and a celebratory dinner in her honor. Any support you can offer will help us give Mollie the farewell she deserves and bring comfort to our family during this difficult time. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for helping us celebrate Mollie's remarkable life.
