Harry Maurice "Moe" Hollar, 64, of Asheville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026. Born on April 7, 1962, in Statesville, North Carolina, Moe was the son of the late Harry Maurice Hollar and Frances Hollar Smith. Although born in Statesville, Asheville was the place he proudly called home, spending most of his life there. He graduated from T.C. Roberson High School in 1980 and attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Moe was a man of deep and abiding faith. Each morning began with his devotional Bible, and each evening closed with Scripture and quiet reflection. His relationship with the Lord shaped the way he lived—with humility, kindness, and a quiet strength that those closest to him admired.

Known affectionately as "Moe," he found great joy in life's simple pleasures. He had an inquisitive mind and spent much of his time in reflection. A devoted Harley-Davidson enthusiast, he was happiest either riding the open roads of the mountains, fishing, camping, or working on his motorcycle in the garage. He took pride in auto detailing and enjoyed playing pool, tinkering with guns and knives, following NASCAR, and had a lifelong love of rock-n-roll music—especially Kid Rock. More than anything, Moe loved his family. He was a devoted father, a proud grandfather, a loving son and brother, and a loyal friend whose steady presence brought comfort to those around him. He is survived by his mother, Frances Smith, and stepfather, Robert Smith; his daughter, Sara Hollar Perez and her companion, Frank Genslak; his brother, Aubrey Hollar and wife, Kim; his sister, Shanda Hollar Powell; and his treasured granddaughters, Isabelle, Jade, and Emma. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Sara is raising funds to help cover the cost of her father's funeral service, burial, cremation, and food for family and friends attending the service. Any support from friends, family, and the community will help honor Moe's memory and ease the financial burden during this difficult time. Your kindness and generosity are deeply appreciated.
