Honoring Misty’s Strength and Legacy

Misty was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2017 at the age of 28. She endured chemotherapy, external radiation and internal radiation. In October of 2017 she was hospitalized with necrotizing fasciitis, respiratory failure, sepsis and a multitude of other issues. At that time, she was not expected to survive but by grace of God, she did! Since 2018, she has endured countless surgeries and life-threatening infections. There have been many, many hospitalizations where the doctors and us feared the worst. Somehow, she has always found the strength to fight and pull through. In October of 2025, she was again hospitalized with Sepsis, UTI, nausea and vomiting, severe dehydration, extremely low blood pressure and high heart rate. She was very weak and debilitated and unable to go home. She was transferred from the hospital to a local nursing and rehabilitation center to receive nursing care and physical therapy. Within 3 weeks she was hospitalized again with Sepsis. From October until now this pattern of needing care at a nursing and rehabilitation center and within 2 to 3 weeks needing to be rushed back to the hospital in critical condition with septic shock has occurred. On March 20th she was again transferred to the Emergency Room via ambulance. She was extremely critical and the doctors were again uncertain if she would survive. We hoped and prayed that she would be able to fight the infection as she had each hospitalization since October. However, Misty’s body was in such a weakened and debilitated state that it became clear that this time was different. Misty was not responding to the treatments, a CAT Scan revealed a mass and it was determined that she is not a candidate for surgery. So, in consultation with her medical team and family, Misty made the difficult and heartbreaking choice to move away from medical treatment to fully focus on dignity, comfort, pain control and quality of life. She has fought harder and endured more than any of us can imagine. Today, we brought Misty home on Hospice. For the first time in 5 months, she is back under the same roof with her husband and her children!

As we take this time to ensure Misty’s needs are met, with lots of love and care, we must also take on the task of arranging her cremation and funeral. Unfortunately, Misty and her husband are both disabled and there is no life insurance, or savings. To help cover these costs, we have humbly decided to start this Go Fund Me. Any contribution, no matter how small will mean so much to us.

Thank you so much for your support, love, kind words and prayer. Misty’s children, husband and family are very grateful!
