Hi, my name is Nathaniel Chatman, and I’m representing the Chatman family.

Recently, we lost someone who meant everything to us and to so many others in our community—Mary Cook, known to many as “Miss Mary,” and someone I was fortunate enough to call my Gram.

Mary was a woman of deep faith and unconditional love. She lived her life giving to others in every way she could. No one ever left her house hungry, and no one ever left without feeling cared for. She had a special way of making people feel seen, supported, and loved no matter what they were going through.

She was also a true fighter. Mary battled bone marrow cancer and heart disease with strength and grace, never letting her struggles stop her from showing up for others. Even when times were tough, she continued to give—whether it was her last dollar to her church or simply her time and kindness to someone in need.

She gave so much to everyone around her, and now we’re asking for a little help to give back to her.

Our family is hoping to raise $4500to help cover funeral and memorial expenses so we can properly celebrate her life and honor her memory the way she deserves.
