On August 25, 2025, our beloved friend Mindy Castillo passed away after developing sudden and severe complications from recent medical treatment. There are countless people who are deeply heartbroken and grieving the loss of Mindy, but none more than her loving husband, Enrique.

There aren't enough words to fully embody all that Mindy was. Living with chronic illness and pain, Mindy battled her body for much of her life. Even so, she brought immeasurable light, humor, joy, playfulness, and love into the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know and be known by her. Mindy was incredibly generous. Freely giving to others her time, energy, money, resources, and words without any expectation of return. She loved people loudly and always looked for ways to care for others even when she herself was not well.

The last two months, Mindy was fighting new and exceedingly complex medical issues that resulted in multiple hospital stays. During this time, Enrique was steadfast in his love and care for her, faithfully living out the vows and commitment he made to her just one year ago.

Now Enrique faces not only the overwhelming grief of losing his young wife, but also the sudden financial burden of planning a memorial and having to independently cover the day-to-day costs of their household.

Mindy's friends have created this fundraiser in hopes of easing Enrique's financial burden and allowing him the space he needs to grieve without financial stress. To care for him just as he so lovingly cared for our dear friend.
