My name is Letecia Bridges. My brother just recently passed. I'm sure many people have heard the stories. My brother is Mikhail Lee Smith. He meant everything to my mother. She raised him, she made sure he got to school on time, she made sure that he knew he was loved. I know that my mother is struggling. She has been overwhelmed these past few days. That was her best friend, one of the few reasons that she chose to wake up every morning. Now her baby boy is gone. She hasn't slept since the tragedy. She had to witness him suffering. She tried her best to keep him with her, but God said his time has come. She didn't even get to say goodbye. She loved him with her whole heart.

There are other GoFundMe pages out there that are "for him," but the funds aren't going towards him or my mother. My mother is not getting any of the funds. She is not the beneficiary of any of the other GoFundMe pages. That's the reason why I am starting this fundraiser. I love my mother and Mikhail to death. 100% of the funds from this fundraiser are going straight to my mom because she has to pay for the expenses that were caused by a driver that had no license or insurance, and he caused so much heartbreak to my mom. I'm doing this for my mom and for Mikhail. People that didn't even know my brother, HER son, are getting this money. My mother has full custody of him. She has been stressing to get things done and to make sure he has a funeral service that he deserves. Mikhail did not deserve to lose his life. Nobody deserves to lose their lives, especially an innocent 8-year-old boy. He was just riding his bike with his friend. Mikhail had a smile that would melt your heart. He shined like the sun. Yeah, he had bad days, but everybody does. He was still growing and maturing. He hadn't even made it to middle school yet. A long future ahead of him was cut short. It devastated everyone, but the people it broke the most were the people that loved him, the ones that showed up for him every day, the ones who cared about him most. He was supposed to have a future, not a funeral. Mikhail will always be my brother and he will always be my mother's little boy. Death will NOT do us apart.
