Hi, I am Hanna van Binsbergen-Darenberg. My husband, Chris Darenberg, and I are starting this GoFundMe to cover the cremation cost of a dear friend, Michael Migliaccio, or Mikey Mike.

Mike lived with Chris and Gary (Chris' father) for give or take 15 years; he was chosen family. Gary and Mike fought like brothers but loved each other. Mike always looked out for Chris and supported him however/whenever he could. Most of you knew Mike as a commercial fisherman. He spent most of his days out at sea. The ocean understood him. A Vietnam Veteran, Mike served in the US Marine Corps. He was always proud of his service and made sure you knew of his sacrifices.

Mike moved away from Montauk to Clearwater, Florida, where he spent the rest of his days. Chris and I were heartbroken to find out, Mike spent the last two months in hospice care. He passed in hospice on March 13, 2026. We would like to raise this money to cover the cost of cremation and to return his remains to the sea.
