Honoring Mike Yee Memory
Donation protected
The BBU Sacramento Bakery mourns the loss of a very kind man. On Friday September 10, 2021, we lost Mike Yee. Like many of you, I was not ready to say goodbye. I know Mike touched many people with his kindness during his 20+ years with the Sanitation team.
I hold dearly the last time I saw Mike. A memory that I like to share with you all: I was on my way to the bakery. I was waiting to be able to turn onto 33 street, our last streetlight. I was patiently waiting for this Van that appeared to be either broken or out of gas. Behind that Van there was someone helping the poor guy in the Van. As the Van passed by, I saw it was Mike who was pushing the van. He had parked his truck on the side of the street to help this person move his Van to safety. What touches me the most is to know that by then Mike must had being feeling sick already. He still went out of his way to help this, I'm sure, stranger to him. I shook my head as I told myself "of course its Mike pushing this Van, Only Mike!" Little did I know that was going to be the last time I saw him.
Let's honor Mikes memory by remembering to be humble and kind to others.
Today, I ask for your help. It is our turn to give a little something back to Mike. All your contributions will go to his Son in support to the financial hardship caused by Mike lengthy hospital stay during his battle with COVID.
