On Tuesday morning, October 27, the Harris family experienced an unimaginable tragedy with the sudden passing of Mike Harris, a beloved husband to Holly, devoted father to Dakotah, Kali, and Alyssa and a cherished friend, coach, and mentor to so many in our community.

Mike was the co-founder and coach of the River City Venom softball organization, but his impact extended far beyond the softball field. He was a man of integrity, compassion, and unwavering dedication to the people around him. He believed in his players, encouraged them to be their best, and understood that coaching was about so much more than winning games. It was about building confidence, developing character, and making a difference in the lives of young people.

Those who knew Mike describe a man with a heart of gold. He was the kind of person who showed up for others, offered encouragement when it was needed most, and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He made promises and kept them. He saw potential in others, even when they struggled to see it in themselves. His kindness, generosity, and genuine love for his family, friends, and softball community will leave a lasting legacy.

While Mike meant so much to the softball community, his greatest and most important role was that of husband and father.

As Holly, Kali, Alyssa, and Dakotah navigate the heartbreaking days, weeks, and months ahead, we want to surround them with the same love, generosity, and support that Mike so freely gave to others.
