Continuing Mike’s Mission: Research for a Cure
Our Story
We are raising funds to honor the memory of Mike Simari—a devoted husband, a proud father to Lucas and Ben, and a brilliant mind in analytical science. Mike’s brave battle with NUT Carcinoma, an aggressive and destructive cancer, came to an end in September 2023.
Mike was a natural leader and a gifted athlete with a lifelong passion for the outdoors—especially golf. To honor that passion, we hold an annual memorial golf tournament that has become a cornerstone of our fundraising efforts. Each year, over 150 golfers, friends, colleagues, and relatives gather to celebrate Mike’s life. Through their incredible generosity, we raised over $20,000 in just the first two years to donate to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
The Urgency for Research
While Mike is no longer with us, the fight continues. Unfortunately, NUT Carcinoma is becoming less rare and more destructive than ever before. During his career at Takeda Pharmaceutical and throughout his own treatment, Mike understood the critical importance of specialized research. Because this cancer is so aggressive, it is often underfunded and misunderstood. We are on a mission to change that.

Why We Are Fundraising
All proceeds from this effort will go directly to NUT Carcinoma research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Our goal is to provide the resources necessary for doctors and scientists to develop more effective treatments and, ultimately, find a cure for this devastating disease.
