Honoring Michael A. Edmondson: Supporting his family
Donation protected
Our dearest Mike left us suddenly on August 3rd, 2024. The loving husband of Angela Edmondson (Luciano), beloved father to Dominic and Grace; son of Curtis Edmondson and Lesslee Valentini and dear brother of Christopher Edmondson and Steven Edmondson.
A native of Moline, Illinois, he was recruited as a wrestler where he earned an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy. It was here that he developed a brotherhood of close friends that were his bedrock of support to the very end. Always known as a fun and loving friend, he graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1999 from Squadrons 24 and 32. Mike spent the next twenty-three years faithfully serving his country as a reconnaissance pilot with a focus in the RC-135. Mike was a gifted and naturally talented aviator that was often recognized not only for his flying skills, but for his natural ability to teach others around him. Over his distinguished career, Mike logged countless relocations (PCS), deployments and thousands of hours flying around the world proudly representing the United States of America.
Mike met the love of his life, Angela in August of 2002. They were married in 2003 and spent the next nine years living a military life of travel and adventure as two best friends. It was in 2012 that Mikes true passion revealed itself with the birth of his baby boy Dominic. Dominic was born while stationed in Hawaii and his little sister Grace followed in 2015 while in Nebraska.
Mike was a loving and supportive husband and the World’s Best Dad. He was the ultimate sports dad, the vacation planning expert dad, the “fix-it” dad and a true gadget collecting dad. His warm smile, infectious laugh, the Edmondson glare, and generous nature made Mikey the friend and man everyone could count on.
Mikes life was tragically cut short by a sudden blood clot to the heart. His death was devastating and un-timely, but anyone who knew Mike knows the best way to honor him would be to follow his example to always put family first, let go of grudges and never pass up an opportunity to have fun with the ones you love.
We are setting at goal of $35k in honor of the airframe Mike loved and spent most of his career in (the RC-135). All generous donations will go directly to the family to help ease this difficult transition period and to help with the present and future needs of his children.
Thank you for helping honor Mikes memory and please share with anyone that may want to contribute.
