Hello everybody ! My name is Alexis. Most people know me as Michele “Mickie” Harris’ daughter, from her many years working at Eureka Internal Medicine, Redwood Memorial Hospital, and more recently Redwood Urgent Care. My mom was a caregiver in every sense of the word. Long before I was born, she worked at Apple during its earliest days, and throughout her life she held many roles, but caring for others was always at the center of who she was. In 2021, Michele was diagnosed with colon cancer and endured extensive surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy. Against incredible odds, she fought hard and was able to ring the bell, a moment of victory and hope our family will always remember. While facing her own illness, Michele was also caring for her ailing mother. Her mother passed away just seven months ago, making an already difficult journey even more challenging, yet Michele continued to show strength, love, and selflessness through it all. In 2025, her cancer returned. Despite multiple treatment attempts and the best efforts of her doctors, complications arose quickly. Michele spent her final weeks receiving care at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, where she passed peacefully on January 1, 2026. During her initial battle with cancer, Michele lost her work-provided health insurance partway through treatment, adding significant financial strain from medical bills, travel, and living expenses at an already overwhelming time. Throughout these years, the cost of travel, medical care, and living expenses placed a tremendous strain on our family. My mom was never someone who asked for help, but now, as we try to honor her wishes and give her the farewell she deserves, we are asking for support. Funds raised will go toward: • Cremation and burial expenses • Travel related to her care and final arrangements • A Celebration of Life honoring both Michele and her mother, Prudence If you are able to donate, we are deeply grateful. If not, sharing this page means just as much. My mom gave so much of herself to others, and never expected things in return. Any support you can offer helps us carry that same generosity forward. Thank you for your kindness, love, and support during this time.
