Honoring Michael Aboagye – Support for His Mother

With heavy hearts, we share the devastating news of the passing of our dear friend, Michael Aboagye, who left us too soon on January 28, 2025. Michael was not only a dedicated Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) at UTRGV but also a bright and ambitious student who was set to graduate in May 2025. His dreams were within reach, and his future was full of promise.

Beyond his academic achievements, Michael was a kind and compassionate soul who touched the lives of so many. His warm spirit, infectious smile, and love for soccer brought joy to those around him. He was a true friend, a supportive colleague, and an inspiration to many.

Tragically, Michael was the only child of his mother, who is now facing an unimaginable loss. No parent should have to bury their child, and the emotional and financial burden she now carries is overwhelming. We are coming together as a community to support her during this painful time, offering whatever help we can to ease her burden.
