We are heartbroken to share the passing of Mayra Alejandra Rodríguez Muñoz, a proud United States Navy veteran, loving daughter and sister, and a beautiful soul who touched everyone she met. Mayra served her country honorably through multiple deployments and carried herself with strength, compassion, and an infectious smile—even while bearing invisible wounds. After her service, she continued to live with courage and selflessness, always putting others before herself.

In a final act of heroism, Mayra was tragically killed while trying to save a life. Our family is devastated by this loss, and we are now faced with the difficult task of bringing her home and honoring her memory. The VA is able to assist with some funeral expenses, but the costs of transportation, a full military service, and memorial arrangements are more than our family can manage alone. Mayra also leaves behind a beloved dog, who is now in need of care and support.
