My dear friend, Mayela, has experienced unimaginable loss in such a short amount of time. Less than a year after losing her husband, Mayela is now facing the heartbreaking loss of her mother after a difficult battle with cancer. In just seven months, she has had to say goodbye to the two people who meant the most to her, and the emotional weight of this grief has been overwhelming.

After losing Roberto, Mayela struggled deeply with grief and heartbreak. In the middle of that pain, she began turning to her faith for comfort and strength. She started attending New Life regularly, searching for peace and healing, and eventually gave her life to the Lord and was baptized — a moment that brought her hope during one of the darkest seasons of her life.

Before she could even begin to heal from losing her husband, cancer took her mother as well — the woman who had been her source of love, guidance, and support. Losing both of them so close together has left her devastated emotionally, mentally, and financially.

As she mourns the loss of her mother, she is now faced with the heartbreaking reality of funeral and burial expenses. More than anything, she wants to give her mother the respectful and beautiful burial she deserves, but after enduring back-to-back tragedies, the financial burden has become overwhelming.
