I’m starting this GoFundMe for my son, Derrick, and my daughter-in-law, Dani. Their son, Matthew, passed away in his sleep on March 17th at 7-1/2 weeks old. Matthew was the sweetest baby; he loved snuggles and he loved his mama and his daddy so much. In the short time Matthew graced our life, Derrick and Dani were the most awesome parents; we watched them become the most loving, devoted, doting, and truly magnificent parents that Matthew could have possibly asked for. Derrick and Dani, obviously, are profoundly heartbroken and are completely lost; we are all heartbroken and lost. This is a situation no parent should ever have to bear. All of our family, and Dani’s side of the family, love Matthew and his mom and dad beyond measure. Please pray for all of us and for baby Matthew. Together, all of our family, our family in Dani’s family, and anybody whose life Matthew has touched, need a way to find peace and solace.

Dani is still on maternity leave and Derrick had exhausted his PTO. I would like to be able to collect enough to ease their burden and to help them during this tragic and difficult time.
