My name is Daisy Carter, and I am creating this fundraiser in memory of Matthew Edward Carter, age 42, who passed away unexpectedly in a tragic incident. Matthew was the father of six children, including the three we shared together. His loss has deeply affected our entire family, and we are heartbroken as we face the challenge of saying goodbye.
Matthew and I spent 13 years together, and during that time we built a family and shared many memories that I will always hold close to my heart. Although we had been separated for the past six months, my love and care for him never went away. There will never be anyone who could replace what Matthew meant to me or the special bond we shared. Losing him has shattered me in ways I can barely put into words.
I know there have been questions and painful rumors about what happened. Out of love and respect for Matthew, I need to say this clearly: his death was not an act of hatred or malice. It was a tragic moment that escalated unexpectedly and ended in self-defense, something no one could have ever imagined happening. I am still in shock, and I’m asking everyone to refrain from judgment and instead focus on compassion, love, and healing — especially for his children, who are struggling to understand why their father is gone.
We have no money for a funeral, memorial, or cremation, and it breaks my heart to even have to ask for help. But I want to make sure Matthew is laid to rest with the dignity and peace he deserves. Every dollar raised will go directly toward his final arrangements and to support his children as they begin to navigate life without their dad.
