On June 12, 2025, we lost someone who meant the world to so many — Matthew Edward Sierra, lovingly known as Matt, and to many in the music world, simply as Mt. Sierra. He was just 34 years old.
Born in El Paso, Texas, and proud to serve his country as a Navy Corpsman, Matt lived a life full of heart, humility, and music.
To those who knew him, he was The Mountain — steady, strong, and always there when you needed him most.
Music wasn’t just his passion; it was the language of his soul. Matt had a way of connecting people through sound — always sharing a new track, supporting a friend’s mix, or bringing people together at shows and studios. He made you feel seen, safe, and loved.
His passing was sudden, and while our hearts are still heavy with grief, we are coming together to give Matt the beautiful farewell he deserves.
