Mary Carol Schreier‑Sepeda, beloved daughter, sister, mother, friend, colleague, and wife, was taken from us far too soon on Sunday, January 4, 2026. Mary lived her entire life with Hyper IgE Syndrome, or Job’s Syndrome, a rare and devastating immune disorder. Yet she faced every challenge with extraordinary strength and grace, refusing to let her illness define her spirit or her dreams.

Mary was a respected member of the Houston theatre community, known for her creativity, intelligence, and deep compassion. As a professor of Technical Theatre at Lone Star College, she inspired countless students, nurturing their talent and encouraging them to find their own artistic voices. Her impact as an educator and mentor will continue to echo through the lives she shaped.

Mary was a devoted wife to Santiago Sepeda, and a doting mother to her children, Geneva Jane and Thomas Blue. Her family was the center of her world, and the love she poured into them was boundless. The void left by her passing is immeasurable.

Mary is survived by her parents Thomas and Jane Schreier and brothers Colin and Sam. Please keep Mary’s parents, siblings, children, loved ones and her beloved husband in your thoughts and prayers as they are navigating the devastating loss of Mary.

Mary brightened every life she touched. Her passion for collaboration, her gift for mentorship, her boundless creativity, and her generous heart made her a source of light in every room she entered.

In honor of Mary, we are raising funds to support Geneva and Thomas as they grow, resources that will help meet their needs now and, most importantly, support their future college education.
