The suddenness of his passing has left us in shock.

Born in Michoacán, Mexico, he came to the United States with limited English, little formal education, and no legal status for much of his life. Through relentless work ethic and determination, he became a licensed painting contractor and built a life centered on sacrifice, resilience, and providing for his children. He was strong. Proud. Intelligent. Generous. He measured himself not by what he had, but by what he gave. And he gave everything he had to his family. Like many immigrant fathers of his generation, he carried his struggles quietly. He was not perfect, but he was righteous, hardworking, and deeply committed to those he loved.
