Honoring Martha's Fight Against Cancer

On December 13th, 2024, my mom, Martha Garibay, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Every day was a struggle for her. Not soon after her diagnosis, she was unable to walk and became bedridden. Her cancer was very aggressive; treatment sadly didn’t help as much as we hoped. I, Christiane, quit work as soon as we found her diagnosis in December and cared for her 24/7, as well as my brother John. She sadly declined very quickly.

We spent our last Mother’s Day with her, and at 3 am the next morning, we were at the ER waiting for her to get admitted to the hospital. She never left the hospital and passed on May 18th, 2025. As many of you know, my father, Steve Garibay, passed on February 17th, 2024, and we still haven’t been able to recover since. We are still trying to figure out how to navigate life without not only one but two parents now, two heartbreaks one after another.

With having a medically ill parent, especially one with cancer, it is very expensive medically. We are just asking for help with all the medical bills as they are very expensive. Anything is appreciated, and we thank you for any help.
