Hello, my name is JEM, short for Jennifer Marichal and I’m launching this GoFundMe for our dear friend Marlene Blackstone.
It is with our heavy hearts that we share the sudden loss of Marlene Blackstone—a truly incredible woman known for her big heart, sharp sense of humor, and unbreakable warrior spirit. After a courageous battle with complicated cancer, she passed away recently, leaving us devastated but forever grateful for the time we had with her. Marlene was a fierce advocate for the deaf community, dedicating herself to working with Deaf providers across Massachusetts. She loved helping and serving others, always with an open heart and an easy, welcoming way that made her a joy to connect with. She has now been reunited with her beloved mom, Lisa Ann Fisher, in a place of peace—yet we know Marlene remains with us in our hearts, a constant presence who will always be there.
We’ve created this GoFundMe to cover the costs of a beautiful memorial service and cremation that honor the remarkable life she lived. The funds will help us celebrate her legacy with a service that reflects her warmth and spirit, as well as manage the expenses of her cremation.
