The silence in our home feels unbearable. Just days ago, Mark’s laughter filled the room. Even while facing serious health challenges, he continued to smile, tell stories, and talk about his plans for the future—especially the future he wanted for his son, Devin Solis. None of us were ready to say goodbye.

Mark had been bravely battling kidney failure related to diabetes. Three times a week, he went to dialysis. It was exhausting and demanding, but he faced it with quiet strength. He didn’t complain.
