It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of Mario Cuevas — a loving father, a generous soul, and a pillar in his community through his 22 years of service with the Salvation Army.
Mario collapsed suddenly from cardiac arrest and passed away on Sunday, July 13th. His loss left a deep void in the lives of all who knew and loved him, especially his son Ryan Garcia, who was by his side through everything and shared a close bond with him.
In the days following his death, Ryan has faced not only immense grief but heartbreaking betrayal. Family members he trusted to help him during this time have stolen valuables from the home — including cash, jewelry, and personal belongings of both Mario and Ryan — and taken actions that disrupted his ability to live in peace, including prematurely shutting off utilities and destroying documents crucial to the probate process.
Police reports have been filed, and probate proceedings are underway, but these processes take time — time Ryan may not have. He now faces the possibility of losing his home of 25 years and the few remaining possessions that carry his father’s memory.
This fundraiser is to help cover Mario’s cremation, legal assistance, and essential living expenses while Ryan navigates this overwhelming situation.
Any amount you can give will make a real difference — helping Ryan grieve in dignity and begin to rebuild after loss.
Thank you for your kindness, your support, and for honoring Mario’s memory by standing with his son in this time of need.
