Marie Claudette Saintfort — known to our family as Claudette or Mami Dedette — meant everything to us. She wasn’t just our loved one; she was our foundation, our comfort, our strength, and our biggest supporter. She carried our family with love, wisdom, and faith, always placing us before herself. The values she instilled in us, the prayers she prayed over us, and the sacrifices she made shaped who we are today as individuals and as a family. Throughout this past year, she was hospitalized several times, and each time she fought with incredible strength and resilience. She overcame every obstacle placed before her — until this final time. She did not make it to the hospital for treatment. She closed her eyes and took her last few breaths in the ambulance, taken from us far too soon. Her passing has left our hearts shattered and our family forever changed. The need for funds comes from the unexpected nature of this loss. Despite her many battles, we were not prepared for this outcome emotionally or financially. The costs associated with her burial arrangements have placed a heavy burden on our family during an already painful time. We want to honor the life of Marie Claudette Saintfort — our Claudette, our Mami Dedette — with the dignity, love, and respect she so deeply deserves.
