Marian J. Sahlin was a true fighter—resilient, hopeful, and optimistic even in the face of life’s toughest challenges. No matter what she faced, Marian’s spirit never wavered. Her ability to remain positive inspired everyone around her, and her strength was a source of comfort to her family and friends.

Marian was deeply loved by her son Tony Jovanovic; her sisters Sue, Kathy, Debbie, and Lisa; her brother Marty; her three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Together, we want to honor her memory in a way that reflects her warmth and the joy she brought to our lives. We are raising funds to provide Marian with a respectful cremation and a memorial service at her favorite restaurant, a place filled with memories and laughter. This gathering will give family and friends a chance to celebrate Marian’s life and share stories that capture her enduring spirit.

Marian was tragically hit by a vehicle while walking home from a local store in Berwyn, Illinois on September 8th. Marian continued to fight for her life at Loyola Hospital until the morning of September 27 when she passed on. I have reached out to the Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of Chicago, and the State of Illinois for assistance with burial and cremation. Unfortunately, I have not been able to secure any help. I am Marian's only child, so it is my duty to do all I can to provide a respectful passing for her. Thank you for your time and support.
