Doña María se unió a nuestro equipo de housekeeping en el 2018. Era una persona muy trabajadora y una compañera maravillosa para todos nosotros. En el 2023, hizo un breve viaje a México, donde se enfermó gravemente. Estuvo hospitalizada durante varias semanas y recibió tratamiento. Como una parte muy querida de nuestro equipo, se le dio todo el tiempo que necesitara para recuperarse.

El año pasado, regresó al trabajo y me enteré de que le habían diagnosticado cáncer. Ella decidió mantenerlo en privado porque quería que la trataran como siempre. María fue una mujer increíble – muy querida por su equipo y aún más por su familia. Fue más que una compañera de trabajo; fue nuestra amiga. No hace mucho, regresó a México para una cita médica, donde le informaron que el cáncer había regresado. Decidió quedarse allí para recibir tratamiento.

Lamentablemente, no había mucho que se pudiera hacer. Ella y su familia regresaron a los Estados Unidos para buscar segundas opiniones, pero el pronóstico fue el mismo. Nuestra querida amiga María falleció el 23 de julio de 2025.

Su mayor deseo era recuperarse y volver a trabajar para reunirse de nuevo con nosotras. Era una parte integral de nuestro equipo y siempre estaba alegre. Le encantaba hacer videos de TikTok con el resto del equipo y asi siempre la recordaremos – feliz, bailadora y humilde. Hemos creado esta colecta para ayudar a su esposo y a su hijo con los gastos del funeral en estos momentos tan difíciles.

Doña Maria joined our housekeeping team in 2018. She was incredibly hardworking and a wonderful colleague to us all. In 2023, she took a short trip to her home in Mexico, where she became seriously ill. She was hospitalized for several weeks and received treatment. As a beloved member of our team, she was given all the time she needed to recover.

Last year, she returned to work, and I learned she had been diagnosed with cancer. She chose to keep it private because she wanted to be treated the same as always. Maria was an incredible woman—deeply loved by her team and even more so by her family. She was more than a coworker; she was our friend. Not long ago, she returned to Mexico for a medical appointment, where she was told the cancer had spread. She stayed there to begin treatment.

Sadly, there wasn’t much they could do. She and her family came back to the U.S. for second opinions, but the prognosis remained the same. Our dear friend Maria passed away on July 23, 2025.

Her biggest wish was to get well and return to work. She loved being a part of our housekeeping team. She was always cheerful and loved making TikTok videos with the rest of the crew. We will always remember her, and we've created this fundraiser to help her husband and her son take care of her funeral expenses.
