Marcus Ziemer was more than a coach, more than a friend—he was someone who changed lives.
On March 16th, Marcus tragically passed away in an accident in Germany, leaving behind his family, his community, and countless people whose lives are better because of him.
If you knew Marcus, you knew his heart. You knew the way he showed up—not just for the game of soccer, but for people. He gave his time, his energy, and his passion so selflessly. He believed in others, often more than they believed in themselves. Because of that, his impact will live on far beyond the field.
Right now, his family is facing an unimaginable loss. Along with their grief, they are navigating the unexpected financial burdens that come with it—travel to Germany, the process of bringing Marcus home, and organizing a celebration of life that reflects the kind of person he was and the lives he touched.
This fundraiser has been created to help ease that burden and allow Marcus’s family to focus on what matters most: being together and supporting one another.
Funds raised will go directly toward:
- Travel expenses to Germany, allowing Marcus’s immediate family to be together and support one another
- Costs associated with bringing Marcus home
- Costs associated with a celebration of life and memorial expenses, allowing those whose lives he impacted to come together and remember him
- A family support fund to give his wife, Trisha, and children, Thomas, Taylor, and Tera, the time and space to be together after this unimaginable loss
If these immediate needs are met, additional funds will support ways to honor Marcus’s legacy and the impact he made.
There is no obligation to give. Your love, your prayers, and your memories mean more than words can express. But if you are able to contribute or share this page, you are helping carry forward the impact Marcus made on all of us. It is a way to say, “you will never walk alone.”
Marcus gave so much to so many. Now it’s our turn to give back in his name.
