Marco Serrano was a bright light in our family—a 20-year-old United States Naval sailor stationed in Seattle, Washington. He was tragically killed in a car accident over the weekend, leaving our hearts broken and our family grieving. Marco was not only a dedicated sailor, but also a loving son, grandson, nephew, and brother. He was a wonderful role model to his little brothers and sister, always encouraging them and showing them the importance of kindness and hard work. His positive spirit and infectious smile made him loved by everyone who knew him.

As we navigate this unimaginable loss, we are faced with the challenge of arranging Marco’s funeral and honoring his memory in the way he deserves. While the Navy will eventually provide some compensation for the funeral, we do not know when that support will arrive. In the meantime, we are reaching out to our friends, family, and community for help covering the immediate costs of the funeral and related expenses.
