In Loving Memory of Manuel Rodarte Macias

My name is Jessica, and I am the niece of Manuel Rodarte. I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my cousin Pamela and our family to help cover funeral and transportation expenses during this very difficult time. 

My uncle faced many health challenges over the years and fought hard to keep going. A few years ago, he underwent brain surgery, and after suffering a stroke, he lost mobility in his right arm and leg. 

Despite these challenges, he continued to push forward with strength and resilience. In the days leading up to his passing, my uncle experienced a tragic fall in his home and was unable to get back up due to his limited mobility. He was found the following morning by his caregiver, Tomasita, who, concerned after not hearing from him, went to check on him even on her day off. Thanks to her quick actions, she called 911, and emergency responders were able to get to him and transport him to the hospital. He remained in the hospital for about a week and was stable for a time, but his condition took a turn. He was placed on life support on Friday, and by early Saturday morning, he peacefully passed away. 

My uncle fought many times throughout his life to overcome his health struggles. While his loss is deeply painful, we find comfort in knowing that after everything he endured, he is finally at peace and no longer suffering. We are working to bring him home from Kansas City, where he will be laid to rest. The costs for transportation and funeral arrangements are overwhelming, and we are asking for any support you may be able to give. 

My uncle leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory, including his children, Pamela, Leslie, Dario, Neri, and Angel Rodarte, along with nine grandchildren, his three sisters, Maria, Teresa, and Cuca, who loved him deeply, and many nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives he touched. He was someone who found joy in the simple things—he loved cooking, gardening, and taking walks to the park when he was feeling his best. These are the memories we will hold onto forever. 

We take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his parents, Isidoro “Chololo” and Maria De Jesus, and his brothers, Ramon and Juan. All the boys are together again, watching over each other. We would also like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to his caregiver, Tomasita, and her son, Yeison Joel. Thank you for opening your hearts and your home to him, loving him as if he were part of your own family. Yeison Joel, thank you for bringing him smiles, laughter, and joy, for calling him your “viejito,” and for being a light in his life. Knowing he was surrounded by your love, especially during times when we were far away, brings us comfort that words cannot express. We will always be grateful for the care, kindness, and love you gave him.

En Memoria Amorosa de Manuel Rodarte Macias.

Mi nombre es Jessica y soy sobrina de Manuel Rodarte. Estoy creando esta recaudación de fondos en nombre de mi prima Pamela y de toda nuestra familia para ayudar a cubrir los gastos funerarios y de traslado durante este momento tan difícil.

Mi tío enfrentó muchos problemas de salud a lo largo de los años y luchó con todas sus fuerzas para seguir adelante. Hace algunos años, se sometió a una cirugía cerebral y, después de sufrir un derrame cerebral, perdió la movilidad en su brazo y pierna derecha. A pesar de estos desafíos, continuó luchando con fortaleza y resiliencia. En los días previos a su fallecimiento, Mi tío sufrió una caída en su hogar y no pudo levantarse debido a su movilidad limitada. Fue encontrado a la mañana siguiente por su cuidadora, Tomasita, quien, preocupada al no saber de él, decidió ir a revisarlo incluso en su día libre. Gracias a su rápida acción, llamó al 911, y los servicios de emergencia pudieron entrar al hogar y trasladarlo al hospital. Permaneció en el hospital aproximadamente una semana y se mantuvo estable por un tiempo, pero su condición empeoró. Fue puesto en soporte vital el viernes, y la madrugada del sábado falleció en paz. Mi tío luchó muchas veces a lo largo de su vida para superar sus problemas de salud. Aunque su pérdida nos causa un profundo dolor, encontramos consuelo en saber que, después de todo lo que sufrió, finalmente está en paz y ya no siente dolor.

Estamos trabajando para traerlo de regreso a casa desde Kansas City, donde descansará en paz. Los costos de transporte y los servicios funerarios son muy elevados, y estamos pidiendo cualquier apoyo que puedan brindarnos.
