On August 1, our lives changed forever when my brother, Malik, was tragically killed after being rear-ended while riding his motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The news was delivered to his home, where his girlfriend, Alexis, and our mother were left devastated by this unimaginable loss.


Malik was the heart of our family. He was a devoted father to his beautiful 8-month-old son, Messish, a loving son and brother, and someone who worked tirelessly to provide for the people he loved. He was the primary provider for his household, covering the family’s expenses while Alexis stayed home to care for their baby. Our mother also helps care for Messish, making this loss even more devastating for everyone who depended on Malik. Anyone who knew Malik knew he had a personality that could light up a room. He was the biggest goofball, always making people laugh and finding humor even in difficult moments. He had a way of bringing joy to those around him, and his absence has left an immeasurable void in our lives.


Because Malik’s passing was so sudden, he did not have life insurance. We are raising funds to help cover his funeral and memorial expenses and to help Alexis and baby Messish relocate closer to family, where they will have the love and support they need during this incredibly difficult time.
