Honoring Lynn Lord: Supporting James in a Time of Heartbreak

It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved friend, Lynn Lord, a dedicated, highly respected member of the fire service and the TMVFD Crew. Lynn left us on Saturday, June 6th, 2025, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, following a swift and devastating cancer diagnosis.

Lynn dedicated her career to service, proudly working as a state contractor on a military base and serving as a Correctional Officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. She was an experienced firefighter, EMT, and Rehab Unit Supervisor. Her commitment to serving her country and her community was unwavering. Throughout her remarkable career, Lynn made a tremendous impact on countless lives—whether providing assistance to communities ravaged by natural disasters through her work with the Red Cross or stepping up in various roles within the fire service. Known for her strong spirit and compassionate mentorship, she was a force of nature who led with both a caring heart and a touch of "tough love." Lynn's presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her absence will be felt deeply.

Now, her husband, James—TMVFD Station Lieutenant and a key member of our firefighting crew—is fighting a heartbreaking loss. In addition to grieving the love of his life, he is confronted with overwhelming medical bills stemming from Lynn's three weeks of hospitalization and her final need for round-the-clock palliative care.
