On March 29, 2026, on Palm Sunday, our hearts were shattered by the sudden passing of our beloved Guadalupe Castilleja, better known to all of us as Lupe. Lupe was 66 years old, born in Edinburg, Texas, and spent most of his life in Pasco, Washington, where he built a life centered around love, family, and hard work. He dedicated so much of himself to his children and to his parents’ bakery, always showing up with a giving heart and unwavering dedication. If you knew Lupe, you knew his joy. You could find him cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, proudly talking about his daughters, or cruising in his precious light blue 1989 Chevy truck that he loved so much. But more than anything, Lupe came alive through music. Tejano wasn’t just music to him it was his soul. Whether at a concert or dancing the night away at the Eagles, Tío Lupe moved with a happiness that was contagious. He truly danced his little heart away, and in those moments, you could feel the love he carried inside. To us, he was more than a man he was a father, a grandfather, a brother, an uncle, and a guiding light. He leaves behind three beautiful daughters, seven grandchildren who adored him, three siblings, and four nieces who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. His absence leaves a space that can never be filled. As we navigate this unimaginable loss, we are asking for support to help cover funeral expenses and give Lupe the farewell he deserves. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly toward honoring his life and easing the burden on his family during this difficult time. If you are unable to give, we ask that you please keep our family in your prayers and share this page. Your love and support mean more than words can express. Tío Lupe, thank you for the music, the laughter, the dances, and the love. You will forever live on in every song, every step, and every memory we hold close. Rest easy. We love you always.
